Following the 2023 budget announcement made by the federal authorities relating to the $13 billion in funding for the brand new dental care program, Quebec is planning to decide out.
Quebec Finance Minister Eric Girard mentioned that since Quebec already has its personal dental program, they don’t need to take part within the new program. Nonetheless, they want to obtain compensation to assist fund the prevailing applications, which is estimated to be about $3 million over three years.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is open to negotiations.
